My early life was in Wauchope, New South Wales, and my initial career was as a spray painter.

As a youngster I developed a love of beer but soon became intrigued by the fact I could make it myself. Described by many as  a mad scientist and playing with his chemistry set, I started with a home brew kit going on to designing, perfecting and building my own home brewing system. I  experimented and learned to perfect the process. I was obsessed with making the perfect beer. I started winning National Home Brewing competitions, before a trip to the USA here I saw the  California style of Brew Pub I realised this is what I wanted to do in Australia.

After Covid, starting in a basement in a back alley in Nambour, Morts was born.

My obsessive and analytical mind drives my quest to create the best beer  in Australia.
